The global shrimp production will continue to show a growth trend, the species cultured will be more diversified, and the potential of my country's shrimp consumption market will be further expanded. This is the 2010 China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association's forecast for the shrimp industry at the 2nd China International Shrimp Industry Development Forum held in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province from April 20 to 22.

The forum was attended by more than 380 representatives from major shrimp producing countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and India, the United States Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), and domestic aquaculture, feed, seed, processing, trading companies, scientific research institutes and other units.

After the global financial crisis, this forum was held under the complex background of rising international shrimp production costs, rebounding market prices, and a significant increase in domestic shrimp consumption in my country, which attracted great attention in the industry. The forum received 22 reports submitted by experts in various fields, and they all had in-depth exchanges at the meeting. The China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association analyzed the development characteristics of the global shrimp industry in 2009 and the status quo of the development of my country's shrimp industry at the forum.
